We still need to build our platforms, but using that influence to celebrate others has become a centrepiece of the David Smith Homes Group brand. David will share stories and insight into becoming an 'advocate agent', turning attention away from himself and toward local non-profits and businesses, creating win-win scenarios. David is keenly aware of the irony of giving a keynote talk on deflecting attention, so this presentation will include video content celebrating other Realtors to provide a fuller picture. David Smith leads the David Smith Homes Group out of Royal LePage Wolstencroft in Langley, BC, serving the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. David's business is built on a 'people over property, always.' approach, and has attempted to integrate the concept of 'advocate agency' into all they do. This means instead of talking about himself all the time, he tries to find local businesses and non-profits to celebrate, utilizing video content and social media with this end in mind. Ironically, he gets asked to talk about this approach regularly, trust him, he's aware of the irony. Highlights of David's advocacy have included 'Realtor Monopoly', a fundraiser for a local refugee settlement charity, and helping grow community-focused local businesses like Trading Post Brewing and Black Tiger Coffee. David has received a number of awards, including an Inman Innovator Award and a Real Estate Video Influencer Award, along with others for production, service, and professionalism. David has been married to Amanda for over a decade, and loves time with three young children.
